What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching starts from the here and now and focuses on moving forward.

Therapy looks at the past and how it impacts on the present and is often about healing pain/conflict.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a process that will help you explore underlying beliefs, assumptions, expectations which maybe stopping you being happy, limiting your opportunity to live a successful life and stopping you from moving forward.

I will work with you to identify the barriers to your success and happiness and develop an individual plan to achieve your goals.

Who do you work with?

I coach both males and females. I’ve worked with many different types of people: executives in large corporates, professional golfers, small business owners and healthcare staff amongst others. Each one of them with different challenges but with a desire and a commitment for life to be different.

Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual sitting with me.

How many sessions will I need?

This is a very individual decision. What’s right for one person isn’t suitable for another.

Some people want a 6-8 week programme, whilst other clients prefer a 6-12month programme which includes coaching, regular check-in and accountability.

It’s also possible to book individual sessions on an adhoc basis.

How do I know coaching is right for me?

I will always offer an exploratory phone call before asking you to commit to anything. This is free of charge and is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, ensure we’re compatible and explore a little bit about the things you want to address

What type of organisations do you work with

I’ve worked with large organisations like the NHS as well as SMEs and small businesses with only 20-50 employees.

What they all have in common is a desire and commitment to improving staff wellbeing, resilience and performance.

For some, it may be the first time they’ve consciously decided to develop a strategic approach to staff wellbeing, resilience and performance, for others it might be an opportunity to review their programmes to date and revitalise their work.

For those organisations which have had a programme in place for a while my first question is often ‘what difference has it made?’ It’s surprising how many can’t answer that question.

How do I know you’re right for our business?

I will always offer an exploratory call/visit where we can get to know each other and I can understand your challenges and we can see if we’re compatible.

How much will it cost?

The programme will be completely dependent on the needs of your organisation and can be costed either using my day rate or a price for the programme.
